Get-to-Know-You Thingy
Since I've done someone else's, it's my turn to be interrogated.

You fill in the blanks, and I answer whatever's there. I will be sarcastic only if you ask pointless questions.

1. What do you think of ________________?
2. When did you last ____________?
3. __________ or ___________ and why?
4. What did you ______________?
5. What's your favourite ______________?
6. How would you ______________?
7. Who would you most like to _____________?

1. What do you think of people who talk loudly in the library?
2. When did you last sing along with the car radio?
3. Thin crust or deep dish and why?
4. What did you read most recently?
5. What's your favourite Beatles song?
6. How would you present a lesson on "Perimeter of a Polygon" to a class of third or fourth graders?
7. Who would you most like to have with you on a long car trip?

Hope those were point-ful enough for you.

1. I HATE THEM SO MUCH. I take you were experiencing this at the time?
2. Today. I don't remember the song, because I always sing along.
3. I buy deep dish DiGiorno, because I can eat one of their thin crust pizzas in one sitting.
4. A book about autism, which was lent to me by my sister-in-law. Unfortunately, in the end of the book, the author starts talking about how she went to a psychic "because she's so open-minded". Just because you're open-minded, doesn't mean you're not allowed to discern truth from absolute bullshit. Other than that, the book was good, and I hope my brother and his wife will actually use it.
5. For love, "Something". For adrenaline, "While my Guitar Gently Weeps".
6. What is there to teach about a polygon's perimeter? Did you know that a mathematician with cancer decided to use his little remaining time to try to solve the problem of finding a formula for the area of a generic polygon knowing only its sides and that its vertices are on a circle? Only the triangle and quadrilateral already had formulas.
7. Someone who knows me well enough that there's not just awkward silence, but not so well that everything they say on the trip will be something they've already told me. (My brother and my mom have a tendency to do that.)

1. Every time I'm in here. I didn't even grow up going to the library--we didn't live close to a branch so we went to the Bookmobile--but I still managed to learn that a library is a Quiet Zone.
4. Why did she go to a psychic, anyway?
5. Big fan of the Harrison, aren't you? Do you have anything against the other three, or just like George best? I just read a Beatles bio called "Can't Buy Me Love." Pretty good, but the author had a total hard-on for John Lennon and almost completely disregarded Harrison. Bit annoying.
6. The answer to that question is, ABSO-FRICKIN'-LUTELY NOTHING. I'm glad I thought of using the geoboards, because otherwise there's no way I'd be able to stretch this stupid presentation to ten minutes.
7. And....someone who doesn't mind that you always sing along with the radio? :)

4. She was referred to the psychic by a friend, which is probably how the psychic managed to "magically" know so much personal information about her.
5. It's funny that even though I have to blame George for the eastern mysticism that's infiltrated our culture, I do like him the best for music, including the Indian stuff. I've bought greatest hits albums by John (half of it is good) and Ringo (all good or listenable) and nothing by Paul (he has maybe one song I like) but I've gotten George's first album--which was a double--and the two Traveling Wilburys albums (those twice). Also, I like that I got my guitar on George's 65th birthday. Oddly, though, most of his music sucks. I will probably never buy any of his other albums, because he only has one or two decent songs on each, even the greatest hits. But he still beats the other three.
6. What's a geoboard?
7. Yes. Good point. While [info]xarr was playing Eagles songs a couple weeks ago, I and one of our friends joined him in singing. My introversion is not a lack of desire to socialize, just a lack of ability, so it felt really good to do something coordinated like that.

5. I think the Beatles are a really good example of "greater than the sum of their parts." I don't know anyone who really likes any of the solo stuff better than the stuff they made as a group.
6. Sort of a pegboard affair, like a slab of wood with nails in it in a grid formation (or there are also plastic ones), and you stretch rubberbands around the nails to make shapes and talk about area and perimeter and stuff. It went over pretty well, and only one person shot a rubberband across the room. :)
