Sniffle I am sick on my birthday. I rarely get sick at all, and I've never been sick on my birthday before. Luckily, it's also the first time I've celebrated my birthday on another day. I hope my nose will be less runny, so I don't turn the cake into pudding. I also hope I'll be able to hear the birthday song over the crackling and stuffiness in my right ear. Everything sounds like it's on my left. Oh, and it's raining hard outside and I have to pay a bill. Yay, me.!
But I had a dream last night that I got to eat the French toast I'm planning to cook Saturday morning as a birthday treat to myself. Yum.

Aw, poor baby. I would give you a hug, but I don't want to get sick. ;)
And see, this is just another reason to spread the celebration of one's birthday over several days or a week.

I'm feeling better. So how's about that hug now?
Your gift hasn't arrived yet, so my birthday is in fact being spread over several days.
While I was still recovering from my vcold or whatever, I went to the Employee Picnic on Friday. I got to play volleyball for about half an hour. I should have stopped at 20 minutes, because I thought my heart was going to explode and I ended with sore leg muscles. But it was totally worth it. I also lost bigtime in horseshoes. But the Town Hall team won the kickball tournament against the 3 other facilities that had teams (Police Dept., Recreation Dept., and "Motsenbocker", whose function I haven't been able to discover, but it's named after an adjacent road). I didn't play, but it was nice to have someone to root for, whereas with pro sports I just can't care. The whole picnic was a fun time, but I can also be fairly certain now that I'm the only single person working for the entire town.
Just wondering aloud: Is it "how's" or "howze" or what? Where does that "z" sound come from? "How is"? "How as"? I can't figure it out; I give up. |
